Clock Gut Line

Clock gut line refers to a type of string or cord, historically made of natural gut (or now more commonly, synthetic materials), used in old clocks like longcase and Vienna clocks to connect the weights to the clock's mechanism. This line is also known as "clock cord" or "catgut line" and is used to power the going and striking trains of the clock.
