Luxi Orange Polishing Compound - TP2503
Brand: Luxi
LUXI® Orange Polishing Compound is a premium final polishing compound designed to produce an exceptionally clean, bright and high-gloss surface on well-prepared jewellery and metalwork.
LUXI Orange is intended exclusively for the final polishing stage, after the surface has been correctly shaped, repaired, abrasively prepared and brought into the required condition by the earlier polishing stages. It is particularly useful where the highest possible surface cleanliness and inspection quality are required, including before plating, PVD, residue-sensitive finishing or final inspection of high-value pieces.
With a Cut rating of 2 and Gloss rating of 10+, LUXI Orange provides very little material removal while delivering an exceptionally high level of brightness. Its purpose is to enhance the final surface rather than correct scratches, preparation marks, waves, geometry errors or other surface defects. Any such imperfections should be completely resolved during the earlier preparation and polishing stages.
LUXI Orange occupies the top clean-final position in the LUXI system. It should only be introduced once the previous polishing stages have successfully formed an even, smooth surface. Using Orange too early will not compensate for inadequate abrasive preparation or incomplete first-stage polishing.
For best results, use LUXI Orange with a clean, dedicated finishing tool or wheel that has not been contaminated with coarser polishing compounds. Apply the compound sparingly and work in controlled passes, regularly inspecting the surface. Avoid excessive pressure, heat or compound, as the final stage is intended to refine and brighten an already prepared surface rather than remove significant material.
LUXI Orange is particularly valuable when the final surface will be subjected to coating or plating processes, where remaining polishing residue or surface imperfections can affect the final appearance. Thorough cleaning after polishing is essential to remove all compound and metal residue before proceeding to plating, PVD or other coating processes.
Once polishing is complete, clean the workpiece thoroughly and inspect it under suitable lighting. The finished surface should display an even, exceptionally bright and clean reflection, with no visible preparation marks, scratches or cloudy areas.
LUXI Formulation
LUXI compounds are water-based, silica-free and animal-fat-free, offering a modern alternative to traditional polishing compounds.
The silica-free formulation contains no crystalline silica, avoiding the specific respiratory hazards associated with inhaling respirable crystalline silica dust. Appropriate dust extraction and personal protective equipment should always be used during polishing, but the absence of crystalline silica is an important consideration when choosing a polishing compound.
The animal-fat-free formulation uses a water-soluble binder rather than traditional animal fats. This helps create a cleaner polishing process, with residues that are easier to remove from the workpiece, polishing wheels and equipment. The water-based formulation also helps reduce the greasy residue often associated with traditional fat-based compounds.
Together, these properties make LUXI a cleaner, modern alternative to traditional polishing compounds, combining easier cleanup and a more considered formulation with the exceptionally high-gloss finishing characteristics required for professional jewellery and metalworking applications.
