Luxi White Super Fine Polishing Compound 250g - TP2511

LUXI® Super Fine White Polishing Compound is a high-performance final polishing compound designed to produce an exceptionally smooth, bright finish on properly prepared gold and silver surfaces.

Super Fine White is intended for the final polishing stage, after the surface has been correctly shaped, repaired, abrasively prepared and brought to an even first-stage polish. It is not intended to replace surface preparation or remove deep scratches, heavy abrasive marks or significant surface defects.

With a Cut rating of 3 and Gloss rating of 10, Super Fine White combines very light corrective action with an exceptionally high level of gloss. This makes it particularly useful where the surface is already smooth and even but requires further refinement to achieve a bright, consistent final lustre.

Super Fine White should be used with a clean, dedicated finishing wheel. Keep the wheel clean and apply the compound sparingly, allowing the wheel to remain the main working body of the polishing process. Excessive compound or pressure can reduce the effectiveness of the polishing contact and may result in an uneven or cloudy finish.

Work in short, controlled passes, regularly inspecting the surface under good lighting. Super Fine White can refine minor remaining imperfections from the previous polishing stage, but if deeper scratches or preparation marks remain clearly visible, return to the appropriate first-stage compound rather than attempting to remove them with the finishing compound.

Once the desired finish has been achieved, thoroughly clean the workpiece to remove all remaining compound and metal residue before inspection or any subsequent process such as plating or coating. The final surface should be smooth, clean and evenly reflective, with no visible preparation marks or cloudy areas.

LUXI Formulation

LUXI compounds are water-based, silica-free and animal-fat-free, offering a modern alternative to traditional polishing compounds.

The silica-free formulation contains no crystalline silica, avoiding the specific respiratory hazards associated with inhaling respirable crystalline silica dust. Appropriate dust extraction and personal protective equipment should always be used during polishing, but the absence of crystalline silica is an important consideration when choosing a polishing compound.

The animal-fat-free formulation uses a water-soluble binder rather than traditional animal fats. This helps create a cleaner polishing process, with residues that are easier to remove from the workpiece, polishing wheels and equipment. The water-based formulation also helps reduce the greasy residue often associated with traditional fat-based compounds.

Together, these properties make LUXI a cleaner, modern alternative to traditional polishing compounds, combining easier cleanup and a more considered formulation with the high-gloss finishing characteristics required for professional jewellery and metalworking applications.
